The Buyer locates and researches vendors, places orders for items, materials, or services. Purchases readily available supplies, tools, and materials, at the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
Responsibilities:
- Get quotes on requested items and compare price and delivery. Present best price and delivery for approval
- Enter detailed item information into the ERP system and issue purchase orders to vendors for the purpose of acquiring approved items.
- Monitor material quality and deliveries to assure items are received per established schedules. Record, resolve, and report issues resulting from poor vendor quality or delivery performance.
- Seek new vendors for the purpose of comparison shopping and competitive pricing.
- Maintain the stocked inventory system at all plants.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving as necessary

- Good verbal & written communication skills.
Purchasing-related Experience: 3-5 years
Education: Highschool Degree required. Associates Degree or equivalent experience as a Buyer preferred.
Software Experience: Microsoft Office Required (Excel, Word, Outlook). JobBoss preferred.
