Designer
Franchino Mold & Engineering Co. is seeking a highly motivated Designer to assist our Engineering department with designing plastic injection molds and die cast dies. Experience with NX is strongly preferred, but not required if the candidate has experience with other design software. Ability to learn and understand the basic function and operation of molds and dies. Support Quotation Manager by gathering information, submitting RFQ's for specialty items, rough mold layouts. Experience with Excel required. Must be self-motivated and able to meet planned timelines.
- Understands the function and operation of a die/mold function and operation.
- Effectively communicates with all disciplines (customer, vendors, other FMEC personnel) and effectively coordinates all information necessary to complete a die/mold design.
- Effectively communicates requirements to other team members to complete tasks.
- Identifies problems/opportunities and recommends viable solutions.
- Works independently and makes good decisions on own behalf.
- Understands department software(s) and uses effectively for tooling models and prints.
- Completes tasks accurately, within estimated hours and with minimal corrections.
- Exhibits personal continuous improvement of skills and capabilities.
Experience: 1-3 years.
Education: Associates Degree, or pursuit of a degree, in Manufacturing Engineering Technology Design preferred.
