Position Title: Caregiver
Location: Early Childhood / Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)
Start Date: 2026–2027 School Year
Classification: Term Position (Not a new position)
Reports To: Building Supervisor, Classroom Teacher, and/or Superintendent of Schools

Work Schedule:
- Hours: 2.5 hours per day
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday
- Time: 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Fridays: No scheduled work
- Hours may be adjusted based on program needs or at the direction of the Program Director
- This position is dependent upon grant funding.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Union Transfer: Wages per Master Contract
- New Hire Rate: $17.10 per hour
- Benefits: Eligible for Category 3 benefits
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily preschool classroom activities
- Supervise preschool students during lunch
- Enter anecdotal notes and maintain accurate documentation
- Utilize computer systems as required for classroom and student records
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff
- Serve as a substitute classroom paraprofessional at either GSRP location when needed and a substitute cannot be secured
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Building Supervisor, Teacher, or Superintendent
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and minimum 10th-grade reading level
- CDA Credential required, or
- Associate's Degree in Child Development (preferred), or
- Existing 120-Hour Approval
- Good physical health and ability to work in varying temperature conditions
- Ability to work patiently and effectively with young children
- Knowledge of and willingness to follow school district rules and procedures
- Willingness to obtain Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certification
- Willingness to participate in early childhood professional development and training
- FIA clearance required
- Physical examination, TB screening, and fingerprinting required before the first day of employment
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a classroom team
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
