Reports To: Secondary Lead Principal
Salary: Determined by the PEA Master Contract

Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a School Counselor (NT) Endorsement
- Counselor License may be considered
- Knowledge of academic advising, career planning, college and career readiness, and social-emotional development
- Ability to effectively support middle and high school students in academic, behavioral, and personal/social growth
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community agencies
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive school counseling services to middle and high school students
- Assist students with academic planning, course selection, graduation requirements, and post-secondary planning
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to address academic, career, social, and emotional needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and outside agencies to support student success
- Monitor student progress and assist in developing intervention strategies when needed
- Maintain confidential student records in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations
- Participate in school improvement initiatives, professional development, and student support teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Secondary Lead Principal or administration
