A metal manufacturer in Clare County is actively seeking Metal Assemblers and other team members to join their team across various departments, including Fabrication, Welding, Assembly, Machine Programming, Paint Line, and Shipping & Receiving. These positions offer full-time employment with the opportunity for permanent placement after demonstrating reliable attendance and an excellent work ethic. Competitive benefits become available upon permanent placement. Starting compensation is $16.50 per hour, with exceptions for candidates possessing professional welding or machine programming experience, who will start at $18.50 per hour. Overtime, including on Saturdays, is required at this time as this is peak production!
Shift availability varies, with options including:
1st shift: 5:30 am-4:00 pm OR 6:00 am-4:30 pm (dependent on department)
2nd shift: 4:00 pm-12:00 am (regular) / Overtime: 4:00 pm-2:30 am
3rd shift: 9:30 pm-8:00 am (starting on Monday 12 am to avoid working Sundays)
Applicants are required to have a High School Diploma or GED, pass pre-employment background checks, and adhere to a no THC employment policy. Additionally, applicants should be proficient in reading a tape measure to 1/32" and possess a basic understanding of blueprint interpretation.
Responsibilities:
Assembler:
Read and interpret word orders and blueprints to understand product requirements.
Locate and use component parts to assembly finished product to customer specifications while using required hand tools.
Perform quality check on finished products to ensure standards are met.
Welder:
Conducting welding operations using various techniques
Interpreting blueprints to ensure quality welds
Maintaining equipment and adhering to safety protocols
Fabricator:
Reading blueprints, fabricating, and welding metal parts
Utilizing tools and equipment to shape components
Collaborating with engineers and following safety guidelines
Machine Programmer:
Programming CNC machines and optimizing processes
Troubleshooting errors and maintaining equipment
Collaborating with engineers and operators
Paint Line Worker:
Preparing surfaces and applying coatings
Monitoring quality and conducting touch-ups
Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
Shipping & Receiving Personnel:
Receiving, verifying, and documenting incoming shipments
Preparing outgoing shipments and coordinating logistics
Maintaining accurate inventory records and handling documentation
Preferred Skilled:
The ability to pass a MIG welding test (only for candidates pursuing a Welding role) and proficiency in programming various production machinery (only for candidates pursuing a Machine Programming role).
Required Skills:
Blueprint reading
Accurate measurement reading (to 1/32 of an inch)
Reliable transportation to demonstrate consistent attendance.
