Job Description
The Controls Manager is responsible for the supervision of Controls Supervisors, Controls Specialists, Network Specialists, Automation Specialists, Controls Project Leads, Controls Coordinators and Launch Engineers who are tasked with supporting Launches, Standards and Specifications.
Additionally, the scope of this position will span the core functions of Vehicle Process Engineering in Body shops, Paint and General Assembly.
The Controls Manager's role will include supporting direction setting for Preventive Maintenance Plans that includes proactive tools (Network Validations, Electrical Audits, etc.) with the objective to reduce equipment failures and have a vertical launch. The Controls Manager is responsible to lead the Controls Supervisors and Controls Project Leads establishing project timing. The Controls Manager will conduct regular team meetings to review progress, help supervise resources, monitor projects to meet their technical and business objectives and assist in the development advanced training and standard processes.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain all aspects of Controls Standards and Specifications
Governance of software and hardware floor revisions to VPECR Standards and Specifications
Sustain upper level (IT) interfaces to plant floor
Direct diagnostics and FIS initiatives to CoC Standards
Pilot technical innovation projects through solution testing and task validation
Specification documentation through EWOs, PFJs, Kaizens and FIS reports
Review and approve necessary changes to VPECR Standards and documentation through EWOs, MPIs, and Kaizens
Project Management
Support in establishing project timing
Conduct regular team meetings to review progress
Supervise resources
Monitor projects to meet their technical and business objectives
Develop advanced training and standard processes

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or equivalent or high school diploma / GED with 10+ years of experience in an automation environment
Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience in an automation environment
Experience managing a technical team
Preferred Qualifications:
Master degree
Distributed Control System troubleshooting and problem resolution experience
Ability to troubleshoot and install PNET/ENET/DNET networks
Ability to setup and manage automated equipment archiving systems
Strong understanding of Controls electrical design CAD software (ePlan / AutoCAD)
Innovated thinker with excellent organizational and project management skills
Experience developing a library of maintenance training and Standard Maintenance Procedures
Demonstrated team leadership and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Access, Outlook and SQL)
Proficient in Google Suite
Self-directed and motivated to implement change within the direction and scope of FCA Senior Management
