Your Job
At Molex Connected Mobility, we're shaping how vehicles communicate, developing technologies that are integrated directly into next-generation vehicles, from 5G connectivity to advanced antenna systems.
As a Testing & Validation Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in bringing new automotive products to life. You'll work in a lab-focused environment, building test setups, running experiments, and seeing how products perform under real-world conditions.
You'll take products from concept to reality, developing and executing validation plans that ensure performance, reliability, and durability before they ever reach the road. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career engineer who enjoys building, testing, troubleshooting, and solving real engineering challenges alongside a collaborative team.
What You Will Do
Bring new automotive antenna products to life by developing and executing validation plans that ensure performance in real-world conditions
Design and build hands-on test setups, fixtures, and methods to evaluate product reliability and functionality
Run mechanical and environmental testing (vibration, thermal, durability) on prototypes and production parts
Turn test data into insight, analyzing results to understand material behavior, product performance, and failure points
Investigate and troubleshoot failures, partnering with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and drive improvements
Support Design of Experiments (DOE) and validation activities to solve complex engineering and production challenges
Collaborate with internal teams and external labs to keep testing on track and aligned with program milestones
Communicate results and recommendations clearly through reports and presentations to stakeholders and customers
Help evolve lab capabilities by improving test methods, tools, and validation processes
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
Exposure to mechanical engineering, validation, or testing (including internships, co-ops, or academic projects)
Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, or test requirements through coursework or project work
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals (e.g., stress, strain, fatigue, thermal effects)
Exposure to mechanical or environmental testing (e.g., vibration, thermal cycling, durability) through labs, coursework, or internships
Experience documenting and communicating technical results (e.g., lab reports, test summaries, presentations)
Basic proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
Ability to communicate technical concepts and test results to both technical and non-technical audiences, including internal teams and external partners (e.g., customers or suppliers)
What Will Put You Ahead
Internship, co-op, or project experience in product validation, testing, or mechanical design
Hands-on experience setting up or executing lab-based tests
Exposure to failure analysis, troubleshooting, or root-cause problem solving
Familiarity with automotive, electronics, or antenna-related systems
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE)
Experience creating CAD models or drawings for fixtures, jigs, or prototypes
Why This Role
Work on real automotive programs with direct impact on vehicle performance and connectivity
Build hands-on experience testing hardware used in production vehicles
Gain early ownership and exposure across the full product development lifecycle
Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to accelerate your growth
Develop skills in testing, data analysis, and problem-solving that set a strong foundation for your engineering career
