Summary: Supports the development of new and existing products by utilizing the processes in place to manage programs. Works with various departments to meet management goals. On a regular basis will be involved in design, analysis, technical support, and customer support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Manage large complex product development programs.
- Develops timelines to meet program objectives, meets deadlines and critical milestones.
- Follows PDP process and/or Gateway System developed by EMP, prepares and schedules design reviews and gate reviews.
- Interface with OEM’s, Distributers, End Customers and suppliers regarding timing, deliverables, and technical matters.
- Prepare, with Development Engineering consultation, and present technical reports, presentations, design proposals, and project timelines to customers and management.
- Specify and participate in testing, fabrication, and assembly of advanced products.
- Must be able to work with designers, engineers, manufacturing, sales, and service departments to ensure program objectives are met. This will mandate excellence in organization skills.
- Initiate and foster relationships with supplier / partner companies.
- Understands the fundamentals of GD&T, DFMEA, and DFM techniques.
- With Engineering assistance, provide technical support to department projects through design, analysis, and test support.
- Use problem solving techniques such as the DMAIC process to solve program problems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Program Managers in the Level 2 position can be asked to be a team leader. A team leader is not a direct supervisor, however, will have the responsibility to coordinate activities of a group of peers, schedule meetings and maintain timelines for critical activities within his/her assigned team.
- In the process of managing a project, a Program Manager may provide direction to Lab Technicians, Associate Engineers and interns that are supporting that project.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Business field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience. Or a combination of education and experience.
