Position Title: High School/Middle School Counselor
Reports To: Secondary Lead Principal
Work Period: 2026–2027 School Year
Salary: Determined by the PEA Master Contract

Qualifications:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor (NT) endorsement

Counselor License may be considered

Knowledge of academic planning, career readiness, and social-emotional support services

Ability to work effectively with secondary students in both middle and high school settings

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide academic, career, and personal/social counseling services to students

Assist students with course selection, graduation requirements, and post-secondary planning

Support social-emotional development and student well-being
-
Collaborate with teachers, administration, and parents to promote student success

Participate in school improvement initiatives and professional development

Maintain confidentiality and accurate student records

Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
