Salary: Determined by the PEA Master Contract

Qualifications:

Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate

BA Endorsement required
-
Must meet all Michigan teaching requirements for the assigned grade and subject area

Demonstrated knowledge of secondary English curriculum, including reading, writing, grammar, and literature instruction

Experience differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners preferred

Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment practices preferred

Extra-curricular duty experience preferred

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide instruction aligned to Michigan state standards for secondary English

Develop and implement lesson plans that support reading comprehension, written expression, and critical thinking skills

Utilize assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress

Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning
-
Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student success

Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives

Perform additional duties as assigned by administration
