Job Duties: This position involves a wide range of orchard, field, and farm maintenance tasks. Workers will train and trellis apple trees, perform planting and thinning to ensure fruit quality, and carry out harvesting and sorting of apples, plants, and cut flowers. Responsibilities also include handling flowers for orders—tying, bunching, wrapping roots, changing water, and sanitizing tools—as well as monitoring plant roots in storage. General upkeep tasks such as painting tree trunks and posts, rolling out tarps, cleaning vehicles, and maintaining grounds are part of the role. Workers may also be asked to safely operate tractors and other farm equipment, and if eligible under Michigan law, drive small vehicles to transport workers within 30 miles of the worksite.
Beyond orchard care, the role requires significant repair and maintenance work. Duties include fixing boxes, fences, farm buildings, irrigation systems, wind machines, and cold storage facilities, as well as maintaining farm vehicles and mechanical equipment. Workers will help organize housing for seasonal crews, manage inventories, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. A crew lead may be designated to direct and monitor seasonal workers, reporting issues to supervisors. All work is compensated hourly, with an emphasis on safety, quality control, and teamwork across diverse farm operations.

Housing: The employer retains possession and control of the housing premises at all times. Workers provided housing under the terms of this Clearance Order shall vacate the housing promptly upon termination of employment with the employer.

Such transportation will be in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Use of this transportation is voluntary. Workers are free to use their own transportation and are not required, as a condition of employment, to utilize any transportation offered by the Employer.
