Associate Product Manager, Molex LLC, Rochester Hills, MI:
Oversee product line transactional activities through daily collaboration with sales, engineering, and manufacturing facilities to manage product revision and change management processes. Work with engineering teams to ensure drawings and part numbers match the latest revision level. Work with customer support groups to ensure that customer approvals are in place for any product related changes. Lead the product lifecycle and portfolio management activities. Provide daily technical support for existing products. Ensure all technical information on websites and product documents is accurate. Identify products at the end of their lifecycle and lead activity to profitably retire these products. Monitor and initiate capacity addition requests as necessary. Drive process improvements, efficiencies, and sharing of best practices across a matrix organization. Initiate and lead process improvement and optimization efforts by working with the engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams. Work interactively with Molex management, engineering, manufacturing, and sales to foster a highly responsive team environment dedicated to providing customer specific solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. Set, identify, and align efforts to assist the internal Molex teams and customer teams. Interact directly with manufacturing plants to lead cost reduction efforts, capacity planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Review and sponsor cost reduction efforts that drive maximum value for the organization. Develop a range of outcomes and economic studies for new products and forecast new product profit and returns. Apply economic thinking and market knowledge to identify product strategies and partner with finance teams to determine the best option that aligns with organizational goals. Meet both revenue and profit targets for the responsible product family.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of work experience in the automotive industry.
Must have two (2) years of experience in all of the following:
- Conducting cost accounting and analysis to analyze cost breakdowns and allocations with a goal to identify major cost drivers impacting product profitability;
- Developing value streams for products;
- Working with strategic suppliers to develop supply chain optionality and ensure best-in-class supplier performance;
- Implementing Capacity Management fundamentals to track capacity and proposing capacity additions;
- Identifying and leading continuous improvement and cost reduction activities by continuously engaging with cross-functional teams to improve profitability; and
- Working in the automotive industry and interacting with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
International travel required up to 10%. Domestic travel required up to 10%.
