FLSA: Non-Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Temporary Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-Time Union Group: N/A Term of Position: As Needed At Will/Just Cause: At Will Summary of Position: Classroom and small group instruction for proper laboratory procedures with the Institute for Construction Education and Training (ICET). Monitor written and practical certification examinations. These positions are limited to no more 28 hours per week. Position Type: Staff Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Required Work Experience: Two years experience working in the road construction industry related to quality control of highway construction materials. Required Licenses and Certifications: Current certifications as appropriate to program assignment such as Michigan Certified Aggregate Technician, Michigan Certified Bituminous Laboratory Technician, Level 1 and/or Michigan Certified Density Technician. Physical Demands: Office Environment Bending Carrying Moving Reaching Sitting Twisting Balancing Pulling/Pushing Repetitive movement Standing Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Available to travel and work at varied days and times. Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Skills and Abilities: Understanding of the Michigan Department of Transportation laboratory and testing procedures, the American Society for Testing and Materials Standards, and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Standards as they apply to the road construction industry.
