Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Autobody Painters and Detailers for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. We are seeking hard-working, motivated and dedicated autobody technicians to join our team. This position is based out of Allen Park, MI., and offers a PM night shift! Candidates meeting the requirements for this Autobody Painters/Detailer position below are strongly encouraged to apply.
Shift Schedule:
- PM night shift: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am (Monday – Friday + overtime as needed)
Responsibilities:
- Surfacing prototype automotive components and vehicles
- Working hands-on with a wide range of materials, adapting to unique customer requirements and engineering demands
- Ensure exceptional surface quality and finish, applying keen attention to detail and strict adherence to painting procedures and standards
- Read and interpret hazard labels and essential safety documentation to maintain a safe and compliant work environment
- Accurately identify and distinguish colors
- Operate industrial pneumatic equipment (openers, crusher, mixers, etc)
- Operate manual and power tools (drills, hammers, screwdrivers, ratchets, wrenches, etc)
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the Autobody/Paint field
- Must have own tools and rolling lockable tool box
- Must have strong attention to detail as an Auto Body & Paint Technician
- Willing to Travel between buildings
- Must be available to work overtime/weekends when needed
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
- Must have good organizational skills
Preferred:
- Gap and Margin experience with automotive panels for Show Car quality
- Body Shop ability for detail panel surfacing
- Show Car painting experience
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift 60+ pounds without assistance
- Ability to Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where each day brings new challenges and opportunities to make an impact
- Daily use of protective clothing and gear — including coveralls, safety glasses, and gloves — ensures your safety and comfort while you work
- Ability to occasionally work around paint fumes or solvents, with the assistance of proper ventilation systems and high-quality protective masks to help minimize exposure
- Ability to be trained on how to operate tools and equipment in a controlled setting, with established procedures and gear to help prevent injury
- Ability to work around loud noise, with the assistance of ear protection to help maintain focus and reduce discomfort
- Certain tasks may involve working in tight or physically unique spaces
