This role is perfect for someone who’s dedicated to advancing mechanical design through parametric modeling, smart automation, and close collaboration across teams. WHAT YOU WILL DO. Your day-to-day will include:
Mechanical Design
- Designing 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Making sure designs meet our high standards, manufacturing requirements, and customer needs.
Design Automation
- Creating smart, parametric models that adapt to different product specs.
- Automating repetitive tasks and improving speed without losing accuracy.
- Developing templates and design rules to simplify custom product creation.
Team Collaboration
- Working closely with our sales, design, and manufacturing teams.
- Helping integrate CAD tools with our internal software.
- Supporting connections between our design tools and business systems (like ERP & CRM).
Process Improvement
- Analyzing how we work today and finding smart ways to improve.
- Document processes, create training materials, and support adoption of automation tools across the team.
- Driving change and innovation from the ground up.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience in this field required.
- Strong skills in 3D CAD software as it relates to parts, assemblies and drawings is required; SolidWorks preferred.
- A solid understanding of parametric, rules-based design.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
- DriveWorks (configurators, automation templates, design rules) or other design automation tools.
- ERP/CRM system integrations.
- Programming/scripting (VB, C#, SQL, etc.).
- Creating user guides, technical documentation or training content.
- Experience with reporting tools or methods for monitoring software automation performance.
