The company is focusing accelerating growth in non-automotive, or adjacent markets, including Industrial, Commercial Vehicles, Commercial Aerospace, Military, Space, and Energy. This role will be responsible for analyzing market size, growth rate, competition, customers, our current product, and potential new products to prioritize opportunities for growth.
Key job responsibilities for this role include:
Build and maintain foundational analyses to provide ongoing and timely insights to inform / guide the business
Lead Sales, Engineering, and IT teams to review and update standardized reports / dashboards for foundational analyses
Lead Sales, Engineering, Product Line, and Distribution teams in prioritizing key non-automotive market opportunities
Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Line, Marketing, and Distribution teams in identifying which of our current automotive products best match non-automotive customer needs to promote growth
Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Line, Marketing, and Distribution teams in evaluating and recommending what additional portfolio/products are needed to increase our sales in non-automotive markets
Collaborate with Corporate Strategy and M&A teams on evaluating and recommending potential inorganic growth opportunities
Market models (TAM) including size, growth, and market share - in collaboration with the Corporate Strategy team
Non-automotive sales, bookings, and profitability trends by customer, market, and product lines
Competitor benchmarking including products and market share
Scanning and collation of market intelligence (M&A, product launches, new market entrants, footprint investments, etc.)
Support material preparation for internal business reviews
Execute special projects to address strategic needs and challenges of the business
Bring strategy expertise and thought leadership
Provide coaching, guidance, mentorship to working team members
Key Measurements
Non-automotive sales, bookings, and profitability growth
The ideal candidate will be able to combine highly structured and analytical thinking with sound business judgment and creativity to support our management team and businesses. S/he will bring:
Demonstrated skills and experience in analyzing complex business problems - includes structuring the problem, gathering and analyzing data, generating insights and recommendations
4-5 years of experience in consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity
Ability to conduct complex quantitative analyses and experience working with large data sets, and advanced analytics tools (e.g. Alteryx)
Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop polished visuals (PowerPoint) and communicate effectively with senior audiences
Domain expertise in areas relevant for our business (e.g. products like wire harness and connectors and end markets like Construction & Agriculture, Energy, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial & Robotics)
Experience in utilizing Generative AI as a tool to efficiently analyze and summarize data and guide decisions
Highly motivated candidate with a track record of strong performance and career progression
Experience in managing teams and developing people
BA/BS in a relevant field and MBA from a top business school
