Job Description
Provide technical support for conferences and events in all venues overseen by the Events and Conferences Office on the Hope College campus. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical production support for performances, lectures, visitors, weddings, conferences, camps, and other events on campus.
- Assist with hiring, training, and supervising students involved in supporting technical needs for on-campus events.
- Assist with the maintenance and operation of technical equipment and lighting, and sound systems throughout the campus.
- Communicate with clients about event-specific technical needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and/or 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
- Experience preferred in Digital audio mixers such as Midas, Yamaha, Digico, Allen and Heath. ETC Lighting Systems, live-streaming technologies, wireless microphone systems, and presentation software such as ProPresenter, PowerPoint, and Google Slides.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and web browsing.
- Experience with cinema projection systems.
- Knowledge of network controlled devices and protocols such as DANTE, NDI, and other ip-based devices and controls.
- Must be able to operate events both independently and as a member of a small crew.
- This position requires many evening and weekend hours, so flexible scheduling is important.
Physical Demands
This position requires remaining in a sitting or position for frequent periods of time; sometimes includes crouching, bending, and having to work in confined spaces. This position often works in non-climate controlled spaces. Occasionally involves moving and lifting items over 25 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
