Responsibilities
Responsibilities for Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LCSWs, LCMHCs, etc.):
Perform and document mental health evaluations, progress notes, individual and group counseling notes and suicide watch notes
Coordinate with healthcare and security staff regarding patients' mental health care and release dates
Participate in educational and training activities related to mental health care for patients, security personnel, and healthcare staff
Demonstrate knowledge of DSM-V / DSM-V-TR criteria
Provide goal-oriented intervention directed toward management of terminal illness; reaction/adjustment to illness; strengthening of family/support system; conflict resolution related to chronic illness
Counsel and provide intervention to assist in the transition to being incarcerated
Document thoroughly all tasks as stated in client's medical record to maintain social work recording and statistics
Initiates and/or participates in patient education and treatment programs, such as developing educational materials and providing group therapy
Qualifications
Qualifications for Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LCSWs, LCMHCs, etc.):
Master's prepared Mental Health Professional with active, unrestricted licensure as a ( LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LISW, LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, TLLP, LLP/MLP, LLMFT and LMFT) in MI.
A valid CPR card
Must have knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, discharge planning, principles of social work, basic principles of individual and group behavior, and a working knowledge of psychotropic medications.
