Position Overview:
Assists the Health and Nutrition Program Manager in implementing the health services component of the Head Start program.

Hours & Location
- Mon-Fri
- Hours may vary, but should be similar to: Mon-Thurs [7:30am-5:00pm] & Fri [7:30am-11:30am]
- Central Office
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Disseminates necessary health information to staff and parents as requested.
- Conducts vision and hearing screenings as well as height and weight health assessments and is responsible for the documentation and organization of data.
- Assists with arranging screening processes and being involved as needed for recruitment and enrollment activities.
- Provides health education information and follow-up with parents after screening processes.
- Records chart information for child’s file.
- Assists in setting up and providing training for staff and/or parents.
- Provides health, nutrition and or physical fitness lessons in classrooms
Required Education and Experience:
- State of Michigan Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Certification (or willingness to obtain certification) to conduct vision and hearing testing for children.
- Two years’ experience working or volunteering with children in a school or pediatric health setting. Experience conducting screenings, collection of documentation, and organizing health information preferred.
