Job Description: We are currently seeking motivated individuals for a full-time design and detailing career in Alpena. The CAD Designer will aid in the design and production of drawings to manufacture standard and specialized machined components in accordance with customer specifications. This role involves supporting Product Managers and manufacturing with design, bills of material, and quality concerns, from concept to production implementation and shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform design layouts and drafting on CAD systems as needed.
- Select and specify purchased parts and materials as needed.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to identify and resolve design issues using various troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Skills Needed:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D design software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in the manufacturing of metal products is a plus.
Knowledge Required:
- Understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Familiarity with metal manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of CAD software and design techniques.
Ability to Implement:
- Ability to create detailed and accurate CAD drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design issues.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
