Required:
- Experience as a Journey Worker Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, Machine Repair, Plumber/Pipefitter, or Boilermaker.
- Minimum of three (3) years plant maintenance experience required.
Preferred:
- Experience in the following: well field; water treatment plant; repair and/or maintenance of pumps, dust collectors, gear reducers, chemical feed systems, regulator/valves, conveyor systems, mechanical seals, valve packing, and coupling alignments; or related military experience.
- Welder qualification certificates.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to regularly lift and carry loads up to 50lbs, with capacity to lift up to 75lbs up to shoulder level.
- Will perform work above and below shoulder level.
- Needs to work from ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to communicate clearly through speech and in writing.
- Must have good visual acuity for reading blueprints, manuals, pump settings, and monitoring scrapper chain movements within basins.
- Good hearing is essential to localize sounds and understand conversations in noisy environments.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, on varying shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
Extreme variations in temperature, noise, dust, and dampness. Exposure to treatment plant chemicals such as fluoride, chlorine, soda ash and lime. Possible coal dust, lead and asbestos exposure.
