Job Description:
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer with expertise in UG-NX to support drafting and CAD modeling for transfer cases, gear shafts, and powertrain components. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive drivetrain design and possess a strong understanding of engineering principles related to powertrain systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for transfer cases, gear shafts, and powertrain components using UG-NX.
- Ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and company-specific design guidelines.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, assembly models, and manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality engineering.
- Perform design modifications, updates, and optimizations to meet performance, durability, and manufacturability requirements.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and ensure design feasibility for production.
- Support design reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CAD modeling and drafting for automotive components.
- Software: Proficiency in UG-NX for 3D modeling and drafting is a must.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of powertrain components, including transfer cases and gear shafts.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Familiarity with automotive design standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes for drivetrain components.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
