The YMCA of Saginaw is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Swim Instructor to lead swimming lessons and build strong relationships with participants of all ages and skill levels. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about teaching swimming, ensuring safety, and creating a fun and inclusive learning environment.
Compensation & Benefits:

Starting at $14/hr for those without a lifeguard certification or YMCA swim lesson curriculum (V6) certification

Up to $20/hr for Private Swim Instruction

Essential Responsibilities:

Lead swimming classes for participants of all ages, ensuring safety in and around the pool.

Demonstrate various swimming strokes and techniques to swimmers of different skill levels.

Build strong relationships with program participants, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Adapt lessons to meet the needs of individuals and groups, ensuring engagement and skill development.

Enforce safety rules and guidelines to provide a safe swimming environment.

Provide constructive feedback and guidance to participants on technique and progress.
Requirements:
-
Ability to work with participants of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

Lifeguard certification is preferred but not required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to demonstrate all swimming strokes and techniques.

Enthusiastic, energetic, and approachable personality.

Previous experience teaching swim lessons or coaching is preferred but not required.
