SUMMARY
A maintenance helper works alongside fully qualified maintenance technicians, electricians, operators, and instrument technicians to learn the skills of the trade. As a maintenance helper, your responsibilities are to assist with a variety of duties, including installing equipment, maintaining mechanical systems, and repairing machines. You may also need to complete classroom or online training about HVAC structures, plumbing, and electrical and mechanical systems and components.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skillset.
- Patrol and monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures or safety rules.
- Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
- Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Attend training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
