The current High Automation group is comprised of eighteen (18) individual contributors of which are compromised of Solution Development Leads, Mechanical engineers, Controls engineers, and Change Order team members which are managed by a single person.
The demands of this role and the need to adequately provide the guidance and support coordination for this growing team requires a change in the organization so that there is dedicated focus for Controls and Mechanical engineering efforts.
This manager position will be managing a team of six (6) individual contributors.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $65,000 - $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will Do In This Role:
Solve complex customer problems surrounding convey/sort, ASRS, DMS system modifications and upgrades by designing a solution that often time optimizes aging material handling systems.
Understands the design of complex systems that integrate mechanical design, electrical controls hardware, programming and software to develop complete controls solutions for customers.
Reads and comprehend schematics, PLC programs and appropriate follow-up of technical details.
Completes recommendations related to site productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
Provide estimates for semi-complex controls and mechanical projects to other solution development resources and teams.
Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
Performs full range of standard work for the professional field.
Requesting proposals for Alan Bradley hardware, siemens hardware, scanners, label print and apply hardware, and other associated controls hardware through various vendors.
What We Are Looking For:
BS/BA in related engineering discipline or advanced degree but may be substituted with experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
Demonstrate and apply a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
Successfully apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization to provide controls estimates.
Demonstrate knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
Material Handling Equipment background with a focus on Case conveyor, Pallet conveyor and Sorter Controls, ASRS cranes, DMS along with the ability to concept solutions and generate estimates to support Sales requests.
Able to explain with written correspondence and discuss complex, unusual problems to other team members to provide proper controls solutions for customer requests.
Understand industrial controls including the use of Specialized Dematic computers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Graphics Panels, related drawing markups (schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.) and final documentation. These systems range from simple to complex, typically working in a team environment with other engineers to provide controls solutions.
Interpret important areas of standard professional level controls work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly defined issues. This includes the application of industrial controls related to Material Handling equipment (conveyors, sortation, specialized Dematic equipment, ASRS, DMS, etc.).
Also be proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.),
6-10 years of experience in controls and or mechanical engineering.
Experience in designing and commissioning automated material handling systems, including electrical design, PLC, HMI, drive and motion controls.
Proficient in Rockwell Automation PLC programming languages with the RSLogix software.
Proficient with controls software programs to include System Design Application Software (MAESTRO) and AutoCad.
Experience with AC and DC drive systems.
Experience with PLC control networks, such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, and AS-i Bus.
