Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Tax Analyst to join our team in Holland, MI. The position will be eligible for a flexible work schedule which allows for work from home 1 or 2 days a week. Depending on the candidate's level of experience and skillset, the position has the potential to be placed at a higher level.
As a Tax Analyst, you will:
Prepare various United States (US) federal and state income tax returns as well as US international compliance. Complete year-end income tax provisions. Support tax research projects and income tax examinations. Overall, the tax department at Haworth acts like a CPA firm working onsite and within Haworth. Collectively, the department is responsible for ensuring income tax compliance with US and state taxing authorities, as well as other countries around the world. The team ensures proper cross-border transfer pricing, advises on tax-optimized M&A activity, mitigates global tax risk, supports income tax audits in the US and other countries, and provides leadership with the peace of mind that Haworth is an overall compliant and dedicated taxpayer.The main work focus of this position is on Federal and State Tax.
Do you have these required qualifications?
Education:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
Education Equivalency:
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalentplus 2 years related experience or,
4 years related experience.
Work Experience:
2 years related experience related experience with progressively expanding duties in a variety of accounting areas.

Do you have these preferred qualifications?
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desired and valued.
Public accounting experience or experience in a large or multi-national corporation.
Income tax experience.
Strong excel skills, along with workflow or automation experience.
Strong communication skills.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for assigned income, franchise, sales/use, value-added, and miscellaneous tax returns and related matters.
Prepares designated Federal and US tax returns, as well as the state/local/provincial tax returns, estimates, extensions, and miscellaneous filings and related workpapers to ensure timely compliance with applicable laws.
Assists with various accounting functions, including tax account reconciliations and tax accruals and provisions to ensure accuracy of financial statements. Adds/updates relevant records and fields in systems to ensure compliance with law.
Reviews tax law as requested and drafts proposals for recommended actions based on findings. Tracks proposed and enacted law changes for designated jurisdictions that impact business to maintain compliance and identify areas of exposure.
Performs requested analyses of impact of law changes, filing positions, and process changes to provide timely information to relevant decision-maker. Assists with drafting recommendations in order to comply with law, minimize liabilities, and improve efficiency of processes.
Assists with financial and tax audits and drafts proposed responses. Responds to routine notices and inquiries to ensure timely resolution of questions and disputes.
Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
Ability to occasionally travel overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally.
