Responsibilities For This Exciting Role Will Include:
Developing PCBA-based product features on KLA products (analog, communications, digital signal processing, etc.) and support sophisticated projects to meet technology, performance, and schedule objectives.
Solve challenging engineering problems by characterizing components, designing/prototyping analog front-end circuits, generating schematics, directing PCB layout, and debugging PCBAs in the labs.
Define test criteria and implement those test plans on functional prototypes in the lab to prove the reliability/safety of the designed subsystem.
Propose and develop PCBA and subsystem qualification fixtures; modify and integrate the existing electrical and subsystem designs to achieve the desired functionality.
Understand and gather project specifications and performance requirements on the system level.
Collaborate with other groups to develop the PCBA solution and ensure a perfect integration test at the subsystem and/or system level.
Provide mentorship and support to junior electrical design engineers.
Must have the flexibility for domestic and international travel based on business needs.Skills
The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical project management, be an excellent communicator, and a standout colleague with the following skills:
Master's degree with 6 years of work experience, or bachelor's degree with 8 years of work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
6+ years of relevant experience preferred as a Printed Circuit Board Assembly Design Engineer
Strong electrical engineering and physics fundamentals (analog, optoelectronics design, electromagnetic theory, etc.)
Able to write specifications and documentation needed to initiate a project, and documentation for product release
Expertise in schematic entry (and board layout, preferably OrCAD and Cadence Allegro)
Proficiency in lab environments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
