Summary of Position: | Provide audio/visual support for computer labs, classrooms, meeting spaces, and other facilities. Design, install, repair and maintain related equipment and cabling. Independently design related systems and modifications of audio and video systems commonly used in education, events and large interactive meetings.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | Associate's degree, two years of work experience in an IT related support position including audio/visual related work experience, installing equipment mounts on walls and ceilings, climbing ladders, using power tools and lifts, bachelor's degree, live event support or broadcasting, experience in designing advanced A/V systems, or experience with project management. | |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | 1. Installation & implementation of new technologies under the leadership of more senior staff & leadership positions. 2. Assist in annual readiness and evaluation process of all campus locations with all audio/visual needs. 3. Troubleshoot and support the audio/visual needs of university faculty, staff, and students; to include a wide array of video and audio installations. 4. Install and terminate video, audio, cabling, and control systems in an organized manner consistent with industry standards. 5. Test and evaluate various software applications and resolve workstation conflicts. 6. Strengthen communication within Information Technology Services by developing, editing, collaborating, and documenting audio/visual and computer usage and planning. 7. Participate in the asset lifecycle management of hardware and software. 8. Provide consultation to assist in the design of new audio/visual projects. 9. Participate in University-wide audio/visual planning and assessment activities. 10. Assist with continuous workflow improvemens and in daily operational efficiencies. 11. Provide audio/visual and classroom support services for assigned area(s) with the University community while providing a fresh perspective of support strategies. 12. Assignments will include some computer technician responsibilities. 13. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. 14. Provide distance learning support and troubleshooting, for microphones, control systems, document cameras, video/audio equipment, software, and remote faculty. 15. Live event support. 16. Facilitate web conferencing services to include Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc. 17. Travel to support remote campus and event sites. May require overnight travel on an occasional basis. 18. Intermediate skills, reasoning, and advanced capabilities to resolve complex issues and help mentor junior positions. 19. Participate in strategic planning for and replacement of technology enhanced classroom projects. 20. Research, recommend and assist in purchasing, upgrading, replacing any audio/visual related equipment/devices, & implementation of new technologies. 21.
