Position Summary:
To maintain the facilities, systems, and equipment to the optimum conditions of Herbruck’s strictest quality standardsEssential Job Duties:
Responsibilities:
- Repair of equipment used daily.
- Drive tractor & spray for insects, microorganisms, submicroscopic infectious agents.
- Change and repair lighting issues including dimmers.
- Repair doors both overhead and manual.
- Incinerator repairs.
- Flush the water lines and add cleaner when necessary.
- Repair egg saver pneumatic controls.
- Repair conveyor drives, water systems (depending on job location)
- Check and repair chlorine and parafos pumps.
- Preventative maintenance daily of equipment, fixing feed chains, fan frames, and blade repair.
- Repair heaters without assistance; troubleshoot floor heat and boilers.
- Maintenance on driveways, lawn, and snow care.
- Maintain grounds around all buildings.
- Possible construction remodeling projects; adding stir fans and/or tube fans; amp & troubleshoot electrical components.
- Minor office maintenance and repair.
- Run diagnose generators for whole farm, bathroom, and breakroom repairs.
- C3 diagnostics, changing cords and boards.
- Check and troubleshoot loadcells. Be able to tare a feed bin.
- Keep workstation and shops clean & organized.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
- Ability to comply with the strictest standards for animal welfare and to report incidents of abuse, neglect or breach of biosecurity to preserve the health and welfare of our birds.
Qualifications:
- University degree preferred, similar, or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to work around moving machinery comfortably.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Working in a farm environment with very dusty conditions.
- Does not own or maintain routine contact with swine, birds, or cattle.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Working in an environment with live animals which can be dusty, dirty, and seasonally hot or cold.
- Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb and lift at least 25 continuously throughout the day and 50 pounds occasionally.
Safety:
- Follow all company safety rules and biosecurity protocol.
- Proper PPE.
- Lock out tag out awareness/authorization.
- Complete monthly required safety training.
- PIT Certified.
- Report any safety concerns to Manager.
