Financial Analyst, Corporate Accounting
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY
The Financial Analyst, Corporate Accounting role is an exciting opportunity to support our Corporate/Group accounting functions at our global headquarters in Northville, MI. This role, which reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager, is part of the Chief Accounting Office. The role offers you the opportunity to make a direct impact on key accounting and finance initiatives and advance your career by quickly gaining experience in a variety of accounting areas. You will work in a collaborative team environment and be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and analysis of the balances and activity on the Corporate ledgers and will have the opportunity to bring new ideas for process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare journal entries, reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts for the Corporate ledgers.
Assist with month and quarter end close activities
Provide support for special projects and ad hoc requests for the corporate ledgers and global accounting team.
Provide ad hoc support for technical accounting projects or transactions
Participate in identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities
Work directly with internal and external auditors to provide analyses and any required audit documentation necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Ongoing desire to learn and a commitment to personal development
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, which enables participation in a broad spectrum of accounting/financial reporting tasks/projects
Team player who can establish positive and productive working relationships with others
Possesses strong oral and written communication skills; can independently organize and contribute to meetings and effectively convey ideas to others either in an individual or group setting.
Self-starter who brings energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to every responsibility and project. Has a passion for new ideas and a sustained focus on continuous improvement.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including strong Excel skills
