As the Fire & Security Lead, you will play a key role in our ability to deliver what we promise to our customers.
You will provide security and facilities support for plant leadership in the Manufacturing organization to ensure vehicle timelines are supported and met by:
Working with plant leadership to maintain a safe and secure work environment
Manage security and fire protection activities at the site
Oversee the performance and professional development of assigned on-roll staff
Oversee and guide the performance of vendor security staff at the site
Ensure fire and security activities at the site are consistent with company standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements
Maintain security operating procedures and perform quality audits to ensure standards are met
Create and maintain emergency response plans
Execute the company security training plan for site operations
Implement company security programs, policies, and initiatives
Allocate people and resources to accomplish tasks and complete projects
Manage interactions with approved local security and fire protection suppliers
Lead the response to crises events, investigate and document incidents, and liaison with local authorities
Review and approve invoices
Formulate annual general and administrative expense plans
Determine, communicate, and monitor minimum security staffing requirements
Meet or exceed cost and performance targets
Write local security operating procedures, one-point lessons, and VSOPs
Partner with Corporate Security Technical Services to implement programs
Participate in periodic security infrastructure planning initiatives
Periodically assess the quality of vendor operations using standard assessment tools
Periodically assess facility security and fire protection conditions using standard assessment tools
Resolve complaints and issues in real-time
Function as an effective, results driven individual contributor who requires minimal management oversight
Support the corporate security program at all levels as needed
Key experiences and know-how
The following prior experiences and skills will be required for someone to be successful in this role:
Ability to identify security risks and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and tactical plans for safeguarding personnel and assets
Ability to manage difficult situations
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external clients at all levels
Ability to oversee crisis management teams and ability to facilitate crisis management exercises and training
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Loss Prevention, Criminal Justice, or a related field, from an accredited institution
5 + years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in security and fire prevention
Experience managing and coordinating proprietary or contract guard force operations
Knowledge of security operations in a manufacturing environment
Experience coordinating, scheduling, overseeing security/fire equipment vendors
Operational knowledge of fire systems found in a manufacturing environment
Operational knowledge of Access Control Systems (ACS) and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
Effective leadership, verbal and written communication, interpersonal relations, and problem-solving skills
Experience establishing and adhering to schedules, budgets, and financial forecasts
24/7 availability to respond to crises and short-notice events
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Business, Loss Prevention, Criminal Justice, or a related field, from an accredited institution
6+ years of experience in security and fire prevention
Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP)
Experience in an automotive manufacturing setting
Experience working in a collective bargaining environment
Experience supervising crisis management and response teams, facilitating team exercises, and training on applicable crisis management tools
Experience with special fire detection and suppression systems used to protect hazardous manufacturing processes
