Summary
Under the general direction of General Counsel, the Paralegal is responsible for the collection, coordination, and on-going preparation of documents to assist in legal actions and support routine interactions with patients, government agencies, insurance companies and outside attorneys. Responsible for the contract management system; Additional duties include conducting research, investigating facts, conflict, and performing other duties as needed. The specific duties of the Paralegal may vary depending on department needs.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provide administrative and legal support to the General Counsel and Staff Attorney.
Assist in development of legal templates.
Assist in projects and maintain communication between legal services team and internal departments, key stakeholders, and outside counsel, and provide continual support to legal/non-legal members in fulfilling the responsibilities of the legal services teama
Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions and legal articles, constitutions, and legal codes
Review and drafting of new and/or continuing contracts to ensure the terms comply with legal guidelines, contracting principles, and cost restraints
Monitor and manage contracts and projects and take necessary steps to ensure that legal, regulatory, compliance and accreditation standards are met.
Identify and implement processes to streamline current contract management processes including development, distributing, educating, retiring, and renewing organizational agreements.
Monitor current and pending legislation as they pertain to healthcare administration and patient care.
Assist in drafting and reviewing ancillary legal documents, legal correspondence, memos, reports, and presentations upon request
Maintain Legal Department's information in the company's SharePoint or other database

Essential Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in paralegal studies/related field
5+ years paralegal experience
Must have strong decision-making capabilities, a high level of independent judgment and a good understanding of organizational and business needs.
Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Must possess superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Must have a working knowledge of MS Office, including strong skills, In Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and legal database software
Strong research and analytical skills
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
