Description
Automotive News, a dynamic and influential news organization owned by Crain Communications Inc., is seeking talented collegiate journalists to serve as full- or part-time paid editorial interns for the summer and fall terms of 2024. We are happy to work with your school's academic programs to ensure college credits.
Basic Qualifications
Post-graduate or seeking a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
Strong writing and communication skills, excellent grasp of grammar and style.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Self-motivation.
Team player who can work in a collaborative newsroom.
Preferences
Some journalism curriculum preferred.
At least one professional internship with a credible news organization is preferred, but not mandatory. Experience with a quality collegiate news organization strongly preferred.
Some business or automotive experience is highly preferred, but not mandatory.
Social media savvy.
Digital/multimedia experience is a major plus.
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay.
Pay Transparency:
The exact pay rate for this position is $15.00 per hour.
The final offering will take into accounta wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap.

Environmental Demands

Most employees perform work Monday through Friday, although early-morning, evening or weekend shifts may be required.

Physical activities will include frequent in-person or virtual interactions. For most positions, it is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods, perform computer-related tasks, and create/maintain documents within filing systems. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing reports and information, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading.
