We have a great opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist to join our team in the Hartland, Michigan location.
In this role you will:
Handle telephone and e-mail requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations.
Be responsible for purchasing materials, parts, supplies, tools, or services. Maintain stock inventory tracking system and the establishment of quantity on hand requirements, where required.
Prepare purchase requisitions, customer quotations and estimates, transportation and delivery documents, and other related letters or memos.
Complete reports of your purchasing activities and costs.
Follow up on customer and vendor inquiries regarding delivery information
Use your negotiation knowledge to work with vendors on discounts
Associates Degree or equivalent; AND a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of procurement experience preferably in a technical or service related industry.
Strong communications skills including written, verbal and listening skills.
Excellent Customer Service Skills including experience dealing with customers, vendors, distributors, manufacturers, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, order processing systems, database management, Internet research, spreadsheet and inventory software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload.
Excellent attention to detail and multi-taking ability.
Experience in Microsoft Excel with formulas, data entry, and tables.
Prior experience with order processing systems, database management, inventory software and Internet research.
Previous work experience in a technical service industry.
