Transportation Project Engineer - Michigan
We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer with our Civil team. In this role, you will both self-perform and direct project teams in the planning and design of infrastructure projects and play an essential role in managing client relationships.
On our team, you will have the opportunity to work on various infrastructure projects for State DOT's, local municipalities and private clients. You will provide design support for roadways, driveways, sidewalks, greenways, parks, multimodal improvements, and bridge replacement projects. You will regularly interact and coordinate designs efforts with the hydraulic, traffic, structures, environmental and other disciplines to develop turnkey projects.
Location: This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. While working from the office, you'll have the flexibility to choose from any of our Michigan locations, including East Lansing, MI, Detroit, MI, or Grand Rapids, MI.
The Impact You Will Have:
Working on the design of roadways, highways, and interstates from preliminary to final design
Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and quality of work
Contribute to proposal development
Directly assist Project Managers and Design Leaders
Manage and maintain project documentation
Collaborate with a dynamic team to complete project requirements and deliver a quality design to the client
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or higher, is required
4+ years of roadway design experience
MI PE is required
MDOT roadway design experience preferred
Experience working with clients such as State and County Departments of Transportation, and municipal.
Proficient at using MicroStation and/or Inroads (Open Roads Designer a plus)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
