Job Description Summary
Job Location: Brookhaven National Laboratory
The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Fan Yang (Brookhaven National Laboratory) and Prof. Raymond Shaw (MTU) in developing and executing cloud-resolved computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations for a large convection cloud chamber. The CFD software will function as a reliable tool for chamber design and as a digital twin for chamber operation. CFD results will be compared with measurements from the Pi chamber, theoretical predictions, and large-eddy simulations. Finally, CFD will be used to simulate a large cloud chamber based on the dimensions and geometry recommended by the ACDC2 team. Experience with high performance computing, model development, and computational fluid dynamics is required. Experience with simulation and modeling of multiphase flows such as clouds is desired.
