As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of business centered legal strategies that drive increased order volume for the divisions while simultaneously protecting against significant risks. You will guide and counsel stakeholders to ensure comprehension and coordination of the necessary legal measures to ensure the successful operation of the Robotics businesses, advising and representing the interests of ABB's Robotics and Discrete Automation business regarding various legal matters that the businesses encounter in their respective markets.This position reports to
Regional General Counsel, RoboticsYour responsibilities
Ensure compliance with US Government contracting regulations and requirements
Provide support on all Trade Compliance and Supply Chain Management matters ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
Develop close working relationships with the internal customers and stakeholders including the management
Review bids, negotiations, contracts, policies and other legal documents from vendors, customers and other third parties ensuring compliance with policies
Provide strategic advice and guidance to the businesses operating in the Americas on all legal and integrity matters and provide trainings on various L&I topics
Managing legal issues of all areas of the business, including but not limited to corporate regulations, insurance, finance, intellectual property, procurement, tax, safety, data privacy and security, and litigationYour background
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and current U.S. bar admission and ability to be admitted as authorized in-house counsel, if applicable, and a minimum 7 years of corporate legal experience in house
Minimum 15 years commercial/government contracts legal experience in house or at a law firm
Expertise in commercial law with proven track record in complex contractual work
Sound legal judgment in developing and implementing practical legal solutions
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Comprehensive understanding of complex contractual legal matters
The ability to be recognized as an independent and respected legal advisor, and ability to work in a complex, matrix structure where cooperation is often gained through influence rather than through direct command
Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to compile and analyze regulatory and business information, assess risk, and provide resolutions or recommendations for process improvement
Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States
Some travel may be necessary (less than 20%)
