Advantage XPO is currently recruiting for a Controls Engineer for a client in Dayton, OH. This is a direct hire opportunity. This position will develop and maintain industrial control systems in support of plant operations and product development functions.
Provides industrial controls engineering, design, and programming for PLC's, HMI's, process controllers, motor controllers, actuators, and the like
Manages all aspects of new industrial control systems or upgrades. Includes development of RFQ's, specifications, selection, quotation, purchasing, installation, debug, and validation
Provides problem-solving skills with an understanding of key product requirements
Submits proposals to management for obsolescence planning
Provides support for new product launches and teams
Driver of continuous improvement activities in areas of expertise
Support Genba Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 6S projects and initiatives
Develop, revise and document procedures to meet cost, quality, scrap, labor, and safety goals
Actively maintains backup hardware and software for production equipment
Working knowledge of industrial controls, operator interfaces, vision, robotic systems, and process controllers
Basic CAD skills to produce electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls documentation
Advanced training in Allen-Bradley or Siemens controllers, Epson robots, is a plus
Ability to interpret and apply NEC and OSHA regulations on new and existing control systems
Understands network topologies and device protocols i.e., Ethernet IP, Profibus,
Good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines
Professional verbal and written communication skills are required, proficient with Microsoft office products
Authorized to work in the United States without need for sponsorship now or in the future
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or Technical Degree with 2+ Years of experience
