About the Role
Our Finance Team in Sterling Heights, MI is looking for an experienced Material Estimating Cost Specialist to join our team. In this role you will coordinate with key stakeholders to create costed bills of material from GDLS' historical material cost database Material Requirement Planning (MRP) System for inclusion in deliverable GDLS proposals. In compliance with Federal and Defense Acquisition Regulations (FARs/DARs) and GDLS business unit and corporate guidelines.
Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
Primary contact from Material Estimating to SCM
Draft and Maintain buyer directions
Create quote matrix and track quote status
Update SCM managers on quote status
COPD Collection (FAR Cost Analysis Matrix and Assist Audit Coordination)
Certification Sweeps
Maintain several tables, reports and lists
Present Semi-annual training with SCM
Prepare advance funding requests
Work with all material estimators
Preparation for quoting events
Provide quote matrix to estimators
Provide FAR Cost Analysis Matrix and collect COPD as required
Prepare quote matrix based on BOM received
Other
Data retrieval from Oracle ERP, Cognos or ProPricer (Estimating Software) and analyzing data via Excel.
Update any process changes into the standard work instructions
Qualifications Sought
Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Material Management. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
5 to 7 years in a related role.
Ability to use Oracle system & associated ERP systems.
Strong communication (oral & written) and organization skills.
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Work in a team environment to meet team objectives and performance metrics.
Perform under pressure to meet deadlines, provide timely updates, and communicate status with all parties involved.
Proficient with Microsoft Software applications (Excel advanced), including ability to work with large datasets and manipulate them with excel. PowerBI and macro experience would be helpful
