Job Description:
**This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. Assistant Controller - The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
Monthly preparation of internal financial statements and required reporting to parent company/senior leadership
Assist with preparation of year-end audited financial statements and footnotes
Preparation of calculations and other materials for various committees (including Risk, Assets and Liabilities Committee)
Monthly variance analysis and reporting by business line - actuals vs. budget, prior year, forecast, etc.
Complete accounting entries and maintain support for complex transactions (including loan purchases)
Expense monitoring and analysis, including monthly accruals and adjustments
Preparation of various compliance calculations and regulatory reporting, including quarterly call report, capital ratios, excess collateral, etc.
Maintain bank finance business continuity plan
Provide back up and support to finance team during month-end close processes and year-end audit
Assist Controller with ad-hoc requests and reporting
Support bank finance team by training team members on new processes and assist other team members needing guidance

Our Assistant Controller will earn a competitive salary of $70,900 to $100,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

We're looking for candidates who:
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
Experience:
working with manual and automated accounting processes
preparation of financial reports utilizing user-oriented programming languages including spreadsheet programs
evaluating/using various computer software packages
Minimum of (5) years of related experience
Knowledge and Skills:
analysis and problem solving
organization and planning
generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
bank products and services
analyzing, organizing and presenting facts, evidence and related material effectively
preparing business unit budget
effectively communicate (verbal and written) both internally/externally
understand accounting procedures and processes across multiple departments
work across organizational boundaries
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree in a related field
Professional designation (e.g., Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Analyst, or Certified Managerial Accountant)
