Title:NDT- Wall Inspector
Status:Hourly

ReportingRelationship:Reports directly to Dept. 690 Supervisor
Location:Mentor, OH
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and may be substituted by experience.
PersonalCharacteristics:Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
Work Experience:Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment. Previous casting experience is a plus. Must be familiar with standard quality assurance instruments and gages.
Principal Areaof Responsibility:Inspect, test, sort parts for defects, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.
Specific Duties:
Assuring that parts are properly inspected to the applicable thickness determination method utilizing airflow/water flow system.
Reading and interpreting thickness measurements with reference to applicable Quality Engineering Instructions.
Performing system capability checks specified in inspection procedures.
Maintain an organized, efficient flow of parts through area.
Setting up equipment and following calibration procedures.
Establishing technique to insure an accurate and complete inspection of part per Quality Engineering Instructions.
Organizing, reporting and maintaining records for the ultrasonic inspection results.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
Keeps work area clean, orderly, and in safe condition, following all safety rules.
Maintains calibration records for equipment.
Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
Physical andMental Demands:
Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed below.
The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
Must pass the yearly Wall Inspection audits for certification and Snellen eye examination.
