ABOUT THE JOB
The Principal Business Analyst is a seasoned and proven member of the Product Management team. This role builds a bridge between business and technical teams by translating business requirements into technical artifacts. They must be able to assess the business and note the basic requirements of that area at that given time. Using their skilled knowledge in technology, they work with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document (through requirements/user stories), communicate, validate and implement systems software changes and updates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gathers information from stakeholders using one or more of the following methods: interviews, workshops, think tanks, surveys, business process observation, use cases, task and workflow analysis
Delivers strategic insights on optimal solutions to address business needs, effectively manages project deliverables, and meets delivery commitments.
Provide recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on internal business insights, competitor activity, industry dynamics and market knowledge.
Provides leadership through guidance, training, and mentoring to Senior Business Analysts and Business Analysts
Translate business requirements into clear, accurate and concise functional requirements. Create processes, models, specifications, diagrams and charts to be used by the Technology team in developing technology solutions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating existing processes and suggesting enhancements for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
You will be a key advisor for customers based on product capabilities and best practices, leveraging reuse where applicable.
You will design holistic and integrated high-level solutions that fit customers' business needs, production operability and budget.
Leads formal reviews with stakeholders, applying knowledge and experience and providing technical perspective and support.
Facilitate meetings/requirements gathering sessions with the business using various requirements elicitation techniques: interviewing, modeling, use case development, etc.
Direct BAs on documenting, analyzing and prioritizing business and user requirements
Document acceptance criteria, test plans and training plans and materials
Lead and drive user interface requirements to provide a streamlined user experience
May participate in the development of user documentation and manuals, training materials and/or job aids, when necessary
Responsible for managing, developing and maintaining internal policies, standards, guidelines and documentation to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the enterprise
Present key functionality to executive team and customers
Other ad hoc duties as assigned by leadership.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Formal Education and Certification
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology or similar.
BA Certification highly desired, such as: CBAP, PBA, SAFe POPM
Required Knowledge and Experience
Minimum 8 years of Business Analysis experience
Requires business and general system knowledge and incorporates knowledge from other related disciplines to solve complex business/IT problems
Proven ability to quickly develop and scale new applications, processes, and procedures
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and application development methodologies; has led a large project
Knowledge of two or more business domains, and a detailed understanding of how the domains relate and can be assembled into solutions that meet business and IT needs
Experience with business process analysis and the creation of current/future state process modeling
Ability to direct a team from a technical aspect and collaborate effectively with business and technical roles, including influencing stakeholders at executive management levels
Experience working closely with scrum teams to contribute to product strategy and development.
Extensive experience in JIRA
Expert analytical thinking, problem solving and business process optimization skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent influence skills
Excellent independent planning, organizational and time management skills
Competency in Microsoft applications including O365, Teams, Confluence, Word, Excel, and Outlook;
Experience working in an Agile (SCRUM) environment preferred
