System Engineer. Troy, MI. Perform systems engineering for vehicle programs. Select wire specifications/size. Communicate component selections to ECAD to develop schematics for vehicle build events. Assess all in-lines for compliance with SDS requirements. Create and develop Design Intent Schematics based on logical schematics and device transmittal information. Develop CAN subsystem diagrams and optimize CAN subsystems. Verify electrical circuit attributes, connectors P/Ns, cavity restrictions, and in-line connectors using Zuken E3. Validate electrical wire gauges, fuse selection, relay selection, and terminals through CAE voltage drop requirement testing, short circuit testing, and environmental requirement testing. Create ground and wire harness vehicle topologies. Implement and document engineering change requests. Interface with customer engineering team. Verify compliance with customer requirements. Support vehicle build events at customer assembly plants. Diagnose/troubleshoot wiring harnesses. Analyze and resolve performance/operational issues. Requires Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electric Vehicle Engineering, or a closely related field and two years of experience designing and releasing automotive wire harnesses, resolving design and vehicle build issues, creating and implementing engineering changes, maintaining design version control, supporting vehicle assembly builds, and use of CANoe, Catia V5, and MS Visio.
