Medical Assistant
Position Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider to deliver high-quality care to patients. Assignments will vary by facility but may include both administrative and clinical responsibilities to support day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Measure and record vital and patient information
- Prepare patients for exams and assist with procedures
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic lab test
- Administer medications or injections as directed
- Clean and sterilize equipment and exam rooms
- Support providers with patient care and follow-up
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments and manage patient check-in/out
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Verify insurance and assist with billing processes
- Answer phones and communicate with staff and patients
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program (Certification preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification (required)
- At least 6 months of experience preferred (new grads welcome to apply)
- Flexibility to accept assignments on short notice
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizations skills
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different facilities
