RESPIRATORY THERAPIST
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist is a professional member of the healthcare team who provides skills respiratory care to patients in variety of healthcare settings. The Respiratory Therapist works under the direction of the Manager of the Respiratory Therapy Department of healthcare facility designee.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Respiratory Therapist certification is listed as Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered
- Respiratory Therapist based on level of training and state testing completed.
- State License
- Evidence of one year of skilled experience within the past two years.
- Possesses thorough working knowledge of anatomy, general medical conditions, general
- therapies and interventions.
- Possesses the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Annual TB Test
- Must be legal to work in the United States.
- We do require a criminal background check.
- You must pass a drug screen.

Requirements
- Develops plan of care based on assessment data and standards of care.
- Anticipates length of stay based on diagnosis.
- Identifies needs for alternative action in the plan of treatment and involves the multi-disciplinary team in revisions.
- Develops and implements individualized patient/family teaching plans.
- Participates in discharge planning as required.
- Performs therapy modalities as ordered by physician and according to training and experience.
- Sets up, maintains and monitors mechanical ventilation systems according to patient needs.
- Operates all equipment according to healthcare policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Differentiates between patient and equipment problems and intervenes appropriately.
- Performs and evaluates bedside Spirometry and pulmonary mechanics.
- Documents and communicates all patient concerns during shift.
- Manages a safe environment.
- Draws and runs arterial blood gases by arterial stick, according to healthcare facility’s policies and procedures.
- Interprets arterial blood gas and Oximetry results.
- Performs tracheal, Endotracheal, and nasopharyngeal suctioning including the instillation of pharmacologic agents in accordance with healthcare facility’s policies.
- Selects, assembles and checks the equipment for proper function, operations and cleanliness
- This includes:
- mechanical ventilators, CPAP systems, oxygen analyzers, demand values, manual resuscitators with and without
- PEEP, spirometers, suctioning equipment, oral/nasal airways and tracheal tubes.
Pay Rate: $45/hr
