Job Description Summary
Michigan Tech IT develops and supports technology solutions that enable Michigan Tech's faculty, students, and staff to excel in teaching, learning, research, scholarship, and public service. We're committed to a diverse and inclusive community.
As a member of the Enterprise Application Services team, within Information Technology, the position will assume a meaningful role in supporting the administrative applications running on multiple platforms. Primary responsibilities of this position include supporting complex business processes, University reporting, working closely with University partners to understand their needs and offering solutions to satisfy their requirements. You will become part of a culture that empowers employees, treats them with respect, and encourages innovation and open communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
1. Review/understand University processes/procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
2. Develop system requirements from campus partners based on their needs and translate those requirements into programming specifications.
3. Review questions/issues with supported software and determine if the software is working as intended. Follow-up with the vendor and campus partners as needed.
4. Develop/maintain forms, processes, database fields, and develop queries within the campus CRM systems.
5. Create and execute queries/reports using the campus software reporting tools. Including but not limited to WebFOCUS and SQL.
6. Manage building access within the campus card system.
7. Add/remove access to Banner and related systems as requested.
8. Develop guidelines, training and documentation for supported software and associated business processes as needed.
9. Prioritize work in line with institutional expectations
10. Work independently and as part of a team
11. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, business analytics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Required Experience (minimum requirements)
* Minimum 4 years experience in a business systems analyst or similar role
Desirable Education and/or Experience
* Project management experience
* Experience working in higher education
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)
* Excellent interpersonal skills related to complex IT topics
* Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization through written and verbal communication with attention to detail
* Strong SQL background
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
* Demonstrated commitment to contribute to a safe work environment.
