Responsibilities:
Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, and/or verbal instructions.
Read, understand and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
Set up, layout work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to rebuild, fabricate and/or rework parts to a finished product.
Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
Assist others in the fabrication and welding of multi-component parts.
Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs.
Inspect equipment to maintain functionality and if any equipment needs repairs notify the supervisor.
Any and all duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum High School graduate or GED. with Welder Certification Preferred.
Knowledge of and a minimum of five years of welding experience with heavy equipment parts and service is preferred.
Knowledge of bore welding and line boring is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, and customer service skills are required.
Ability to work in the field on job sites and with customers when required.
Ability to work with no supervision, overtime, evenings, nights, and weekends as well as on-call duties.
Special Physical Requirements:
In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and operate in a very fast-paced environment, must have hand-eye coordination and endurance and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold weather temperatures. Climb in, on, and around large equipment as well as work in confined spaces. Travel requirements are < 25% with occasional work at customer operations in both surface and underground environments.
