Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Business Office Manager (BOM) and in collaboration with the billing, admissions, and care coordinator teams, the Billing Supervisor (BS) is responsible for overseeing collection functions to improve customer service and increase revenue and cash flow for organization. This position supervises activities of billing team by overseeing preparation of claims, invoices, payment posting, daily reconciliation, and verification of client insurance coverage. This position ensures billing operations are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Additionally, the BS evaluates the billing processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems as well as claim forms such as CMS-1500 and UB-04 is required. The BS acts as a liaison between funding sources and the Origami team, processing of initial appeals and redeterminations for funding denials, ensuring timely and accurate filing of utilization review procedures to Department of Insurance and Financial Services, and monitoring of accounts receivable. This position requires full cross-training of the Billing Specialist job duties ensuring timely processing of paper and electronic clean claims and funding prior-authorizations.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Accounts Receivable experience within the medical field
Prior supervisory experience
Knowledge of personal computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
At least 5 years medical office/billing experience

Certificate and/or advanced training in medical billing

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel or crawl, and taste or smell. A ccommodated alternatives are acceptable if they accomplish the necessary essential tasks. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
