Safety & Training Specialist
Skills You'll Have:
- Develop, implement, manage, and maintain oversight of company safety programs including but not limited to Emergency Response, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Arc Flash Safety, Hazardous Communication, Lock-Tag-Verify, Forklift Certification, Scissor Lift Certification, Fall Protection, Incident Investigation, Personal Protective Equipment, Ergonomics, Injury Management, and Safe Work Permits.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and customer Contractor Guidelines.
- Lead in the development, implementation, and improvements of safety and general employee training systems.
- Maintain records for all training, including completion and training/retraining schedules.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve internal tools to ensure all employees focus on safety awareness and practice.
- Lead the Safety Committee composed of representatives for all areas of the company.
- Lead the investigation and documentation of safety incidents and near-miss occurrences. Make recommendations regarding corrective action and monitor the implementation of improvement plans.
- Perform regular safety audits, both planned and unannounced.
- Make site visits to staff working off-site to review and assess safety needs and provide guidance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of safety procedures and policies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to local day travel.
