Markets, identifies, solicits, and arranges appropriate insurance coverage for clients by accessing markets (Contract and Brokerage). Responsibilities includes but not limited to underwriting new and renewal business, approving policy changes, developing staff, maintaining workload, and managing written business up to and including the time of binding according to company guidelines and established CRC procedures. Serves as an intermediary between the agent and the insurance company while effectively providing leadership to a team of underwriters and brokers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed production targets as assigned by management.
Ensure adherence to carrier underwriting guidelines and CRC policies and procedures
Mentor and develop staff.
Develop, maintain and cultivate agent and company relationships.
Supervise a multi-person team ensuring all pertinent information is communicated.
Solicit, market, quote, bind and confirm new and existing business.
Negotiate the best terms and coverages available with accessible markets while properly communicating with all producers regarding submissions and decisions for new or renewal business in a timely manner.
Approve and disapprove endorsement requests according to internal and company guidelines.
Monitor production, hit ratios, renewal retention ratios spread of risks and other production and quality measures to minimize risk and predict future success.
Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with the firm's policies and procedures.
Meet or exceed file documentation standards, comply with underwriting authority level standards and pass all audits performed by markets and our Internal Review Department.
Maintain necessary licenses to produce business.
Required Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation
Three years of experience in underwriting or brokering E&S insurance products
Must be licensed in corresponding areas of insurance.
Must be able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
Ability to understand the client's needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associated
Recognize new trends and developments to the insurance industry and be able to incorporate into strategies
Must have knowledge and experience in commercial multi-line underwriting and rating
Ability to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with agencies and carriers
Leadership and team skills
Maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry
Good written and verbal skills
Maintain travel schedule depending on the needs of clients, agents and new business
Ability to work extended hours when necessary
